Dental Leaders Gather for A special Occassion

Leaders from dental schools across the United States gathered in Portland, Ore., to convene for ASDA’s 32nd Annual Session Aug. 28-Sept. 1. The five-day meeting was packed with speakers, caucuses and workshops aimed at inspiring innovation and action among ASDA leaders.

Dr. Sharon Turner, Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry dean, welcomed attendees by urging everyone to work hard and also enjoy the sights and sounds of Portland. Other prominent speakers included Dr. Henry Windell, Oregon Dental Association president; Dr. Howard T. Jones, ADA president-elect; and Dr. James J. Sciubba, Johns Hopkins Medical Center director of dental and oral medicine. Sciubba was ASDA’s first invited speaker to deliver a research-based lecture during annual session.
